SCAD Polytechnic College was established in 1997 by SCAD Group under the leadership of Dr. S. Cletus Babu, Chairman – SCAD Group of Institutions, with the sole aim of imparting quality technical education within the reach of students from the rural areas of Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari.
The college strives to impart quality engineering education as well as practical skills. It is the objective of the college to inculcate in every student a sense of responsibility towards the society and respect for human life, besides developing in them the highest standards of professional behaviour and personal integrity.
The rich experience of successfully establishing, developing and managing Engineering Colleges in Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi has enabled the management to take SCAD Polytechnic to great heights in a very short span and today the college is the undisputed leader in Polytechnic education in the region. Tens of Thousands of students who are placed in top notch companies in India like HCL, L& T, Brakes India, Sundaram Clayton etc., bear testimony to this amazing growth and achievement.
Canada India Institutional Cooperation Project (CIICP)
Our Polytechnic has the privilege of being chosen as one of the 4 Project Polytechnics in Tamil Nadu for the Canada India Institutional Cooperation Project (CIICP), in Replication Phase I in the year 1996. CIICP is a technical education project mandated by an MOU between the Government of Canada and India, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency and executed by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges. CIICP's goal is to contribute to the Human Resource Development within the Indian Polytechnic System by focusing on the following areas:
