I am delighted to introduce and warmly welcome you to the department of automobile engineering, Our department was established in 2013-2014 under the leadership of Er. J. Monimaran, Principal – SCAD polytechnic college . Our mission is to mold Automotive engineers through world class education sustained research in cutting edge Technology leading to patents and Research Publications promoting Entrepreneurship and enhance interaction with industry. The department is responsible for teaching and undertaking research in the area of Chassis design, electrical & hybrid vehicles ,Engine design and simulations. The department boasts of enthusiastic faculty and talented staff members for experts in their area of interest.
The department is well equipped with Laboratories like Automobile workshop lab, two wheeler three wheeler lab, Autotronics lab ,hybrid electrical vehicle lab ,Thermal & IC engines lab and process automation lab etc.
The software packages available in the department includes AutoCAD , solid works , solid edge and creo. The upgraded facilities in the department includes Exhaust gas analyzer, Sensors, Wheel Balancer and Wheel Aligner etc. Regarding placement overall 500+ students who are placed in top notch companies in India like Apollo tyres, CATERPILLAR, Yamaha, Hyundai, TI Metals, ROOTS, L& T, Brakes India, Sundaram Clayton etc., bear testimony to this amazing growth and achievement.
We are offering three foundation courses like Basic plumbing, We are offering four foundation courses like Two wheeler servicing level I,level II etc to all the first year students in every year. We found the essential industrial required skills and we are providing eight technical skill namely Drawing reading, Quality Control,CNC programming etc to our department students. Also we are making students in specialist in Automobile engineering field by giving special training on four wheeler servicing. To encourage our students creativity we provide a platform called Applied lab. Our department has a special lab Manufacturing and fabrication addition lab. In that lab students make their creative projects. Currently six project works are going, they are Follow up trolley ,E-bike etc. Every year we gave well skilled engineers to the society.
